With Haines City City Manager Deric Feacher having been offered and accepted the same role for the City of Daytona Beach, formal goodbyes have begun.
“Our loss is most certainly their gain!” read a statement to the City of Haines City’s official Facebook page. “City Manager Feacher has dynamically led our organization for the past four years, after arriving during a significant transitional period for the City. He has moved Haines City forward in vision, leadership, transparency, and growth.”
The post went on to name some of the notable projects and accomplishments during Feacher’s time in the role, including the construction and opening of a Carvana processing facility and the Crossroads masterplan project.
During his tenure, the post said, the City of Haines City doubled its fund balance, received multiple awards and clean audits, and had record-breaking single-family house permit numbers with development on the rise.
For his part, Feacher post a formal letter of resignation to his Facebook page, the post for which included some fond words about his time with the city.
“Many of the accomplishments we made during my tenure are some of my proudest moments in local government,” Feacher said of his time in Haines City. “The Haines City community, I am extremely grateful for not only the support, but the love you showed this young man from Winter Haven, Florence Villa, the Hill, Avenue T, ‘SWAN CT' and behind the REC. We accomplished a lot together.”
