I am a retired letter carrier and every day I think about the 400,000 active letter carriers out there delivering letters and parcels seven days a week on the frontlines to postal patrons who don’t even sanitize their mailboxes so that their letter carrier has a chance to fight this unseen virus.

The letter carrier motto should be changed to read “neither rain nor snow nor coronavirus will stay these couriers from their appointed rounds.”
