A short lockdown of the Lake Placid High School resulted from a suspicious person thought to be attempting access to the campus on Wednesday.

Lake Placid High School was put on lockdown for a very short time on Wednesday before noon. The security measure was taken as a precaution, according to School Board of Highlands County officials.

A suspicious individual was seen trying to gain access to the high school. School Resource Officer Deputy Kevin Gentry with the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office initiated the lockdown.
