Edward G. Anderson

Edward George “Ed” Anderson, of Lake Placid, Florida, went to be with his Lord early Tuesday morning, March 10, 2020. He was surrounded by his loving family and wife.

Ed was a native of Illinois, born on the 6th day of February 1932 in Chicago. He was the son of Elizabeth Dedekind Anderson and Theodore Stanley Anderson. Ed was an ordained minister and earned his master’s degree in theology. He began his career as a Lutheran minister and became the personnel director of the parishes, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, which he started in Addison, Illinois and St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Princeton, Illinois.

He later went to the Hearthstone Manor in Woodstock, Illinois and served as the activities director. During this time he also owned and operated a limo service in McHenry, Illinois. Ed ended his career working at Fishlake Beach in Volo, Illinois where he did many tasks for the resort.

Ed has been a Lake Placid resident for the past 19 years. He was a member of St. Frances of Assisi Episcopal Church. He drove a school bus for Highlands County District Schools for a few years where his coworkers just adored him. Ed enjoyed fishing, woodworking, golf and reading. He was a past member of the Kiwanis Club, Limo Service and the chamber of commerce.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Linda; children, Scott (Kristine), Sharon (Jim), Greg and Susan (Jim); five grandchildren and he was blessed with two great-grandchildren.

In celebration of Ed’s life a memorial service will beat 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2020 from the St. Frances of Assisi Episcopal Church. Reverend Elizabeth Nelson will celebrate.
