Area residents had a good time at the Polk County Parks & Recreation's Good Ol' Days Folk Festival on Saturday, April 24.

The festival featured a whip-cracking competition, a corn-shucking competition, pioneer living demonstrations, crafts and other family-friendly activities.

The event took place at Homeland Heritage Park in Homeland, located between Bartow and Fort Meade. If you have never been, the part features historic structures representing what life was like in Polk County in the 1800s.
